Westminster City Council Election 2017

Westminster will elect Mayor and 3 City Council representatives on Nov 7, 2017

Westminster City Council consists of the mayor and 6 council members. Each is elected for a 4 year term with 3 council members elected in alternating 2 year elections. All positions are 'At Large'; the city is not divided into wards. The mayor must receive at least 40% of the votes to be elected and the 3 city council candidates who get the most votes are elected.

Candidates must complete a candidate affidavit to become a candidate and then must get at least 25 valid Westminster voter signatures to get on the ballot. This petition must be completed between Aug 8 and Aug 28.
