I would like to see this page in the Sandbox to be a model for a municipal page going forward.

I updated the "candidates" section with the latest from the live Lakewood page & it has some conventions that I would like to implement:

1) I changed the email, website, and facebook references to be links instead of the addresses - saves a lot of precious horizontal space and makes table look cleaner and less confusing.

2) What about candidates who withdrew or just seem to be "missing in action"? I did a strikethrough & gray out in names for these candidates, respectively. Would it make more sense to actually delete them? Or take them out of the active listing and create a "new" table underneath?

3) I also took out the 'seats up for election' table because it seems repetitive and more confusing. What do you think?

For a developed example for cities, Aurora is more developed than other cities thus far. Still fairly rough overall, but shows direction and potential in various areas. (I will be updating Aurora because the controversial racetrack ballot measure was just removed from the ballot by the city council last night, though Sally Mounier says she will bring it back 2019). But I definitely do agree we should have some sort of example of a basic layout of a City page. Perhaps simply a skeleton example with some descriptions and links to "living" examples of each subsection to emulate. And we can use it's Talk page to help develop ideas in terms of expansion and formatting for basic layouts, though some municipalities may require some flexibility (I imagine Aurora and Broomfield will push those boundaries).

1) Excellent. I completely agree on hyperlinking.

2) For ease of use for the everyday user, we should do a separate table, noted "Former Candidates" (as they could have either withdrawn, or failed to receive enough signatures to make the ballot. Would have to watch and see if those who fell short in the petitioning process decide to become a write-in via affidavit or however each respective municipality does that). Many former candidates end up running again or for something else. It's a good way to keep basic tabs of politically-minded locals. Aurora also has a Former Candidates example, as there have been dropouts over the last month prior to when signatures were due.

3) Agreed. Thank you for tightening that up. (Jess)

Take a look at City Format Demo. Use the Talk page and we can develop it more. (Jess)
