JeffCo Public Schools Overview


JeffCo School District verifies signatures for petitions to get on the ballot and are responsible for the costs of the election itself. Ballots themselves go through the Jefferson County Clerk & Recorder (which also includes ballot issues for the school district). As a small portion of Broomfield is covered by JeffCo, the Broomfield Clerk reports to the Jefferson County Clerk & Recorder.

2015 Recall

On November 3rd, 2015. A recall election took place and was successful. Full JeffCo 2015 results.

Brad Rupert, Susan Harmon, and Ron Mitchell were voted onto the board after a successful recall race. They were elected to fill the duration of the regular term cycle, therefore all are up for reelection in 2017. They have been called the "Clean Slate", along with District 3 and 4 candidates Ali Lasell and Amanda Stevens, respectively. All were endorsed by Ed Perlmutter. All 5 won.

The Denver Post came out against the recall, which included praise for the then-board's accomplishments of tying teacher pay to performance and praising that charter schools were given equal access to public funds.
